Corinne Fraughton, age 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sept 29th, 2026, at 2:30 AM in St George, Utah.
Corinne Fraughton (née Madsen) was born the first of four children to Alonzo Franklin Madsen Jr and Stella Florence Wakefield on April 25th, 1949, in Salt Lake City, UT. She would be followed by Stephen Ferrell, Robert Lon, and Darren Layne. Corrine grew up primarily in Utah but also spent time in Idaho.
She graduated from Bountiful High School in 1968 and a year later, on May 2nd, 1969, married Max Gardner to which union her beloved only child Shane Franklin was born. Through the next several years of her life she found continued joy in antiques, bright colors, and soft things. This love would follow her as she and Shane moved across the country and back again.
Through all of the trials of life, Corinne continued to make friends no matter where she went, spreading happiness and sunshine along her way. She found the greatest joy, however, in her family, including Shane’s wife JoDene and their children; Cidney Jo, Shane Colton, Arlo James, and Grace Makell, who she is survived by. They’ve spent many happy times together and she was sure to never say goodbye without signing “I Love You” and blowing kisses their way.
Although she will be missed, her family cherishes the lessons that she left behind, including kindness, service, and charity. She encouraged them to find the things that brought them their own joys in life and to never stop pursuing them alongside Christ.
In her last days she continued to speak of her love for her family and reuniting with the people she loves who have gone before, including her parents Frank and Stella, son Shane Franklin, and two grandsons; Jack and John.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 10:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (272 South 700 West Hurricane, Utah 84737). A viewing will be held prior to the funeral at 9:00 am. Interment will be in the Enoch Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. A luncheon will be held following the burial. In lieu of flowers, Corinne’s family requests her memory be honored by finding opportunities to love and live big and always serve those around you. In her words, “Don’t let your fears get in the way of your life adventures.”
