Michael Davin Jorgensen passed away on October 17, 2024, at 2:30 a.m. after courageously battling a long-term illness. He died surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born on December 29, 1981, in Cedar City, Utah, to Brian and Carolyn Jorgensen. He was the youngest of four children, including two brothers and one sister, who welcomed their baby brother to the family.
Mike was a kind, thoughtful, and compassionate person, adored by those who had the fortune to know him. His calm demeanor often disguised his quick wit and amazing sense of humor that would often find him cracking clever jokes to make light of even the darkest moments.
Mike grew up on Mountain View Drive in Cedar City. He spent his childhood visiting his family cabin in Right Hand Canyon and playing night games with the neighborhood children. Mike had great admiration for his older brother J.R., and the two spent their childhood together learning martial arts and music and playing video games.
In high school, Mike learned to play the guitar and began to write his own music and songs. He eventually became an accomplished musician, performing at local events with a band he had organized. As a young adult, he opened a music store with his brother and continued to do what he loved the most.
Mike met the love of his life, Cynthia Harris, in 2003. They became best friends in short order and dated for two years before Mike encountered a major setback with a diagnosis of cancer.
Mike bravely spent the next years undergoing intense surgeries and treatments which eventually led to a temporary remission of his disease. During every test, procedure and painful moment, Cynthia was there by his side.
On October 27, 2007, he married Cynthia in the St. George temple and had two beautiful daughters: Evie Coraline (9 years old), and Raven June (3 years old).
In addition to his wife, the love of Mike’s life was his children. He spent countless hours with his daughters. His daughter Evie loved to watch him play guitar and tell stories about his childhood. His daughter Raven loved to play dolls and blocks with her dad.
Mike is survived by his wife, Cynthia Harris Jorgensen, and daughters: Evie Coraline, and Raven June; his parents: Brian and Carolyn Jorgensen; his siblings: Erik, Jens Robert (J.R.) and Heather.
