Heather Jean Kelsey passed away, with her parents by her side, on June 28, 2026 in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Heather was born on March 31, 1988, in Glendale, California, to Jeri Lynn Dickinson Kelsey, and Leonard Gerald Kelsey Jr. She spent her first five years living in Sunland, California before moving to Utah. She lived first in Parowan and then moved to their new house in Cedar City where she attended East Elementary and Cedar Middle School. On her first day of school at East, her father’s friends sat on the curb outside the school to watch her walk in, getting the police called about “a strange group of men outside the school.”
In December 2018, Heather and her parents moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, where she enjoyed the Colorado River close to her house, going to the park, and watching former California band mates of her father, The Boys of Summer, play a gig, or just visiting with them.
Heather made, and remained, friends with people easily. She loved playing soccer when she was young, especially while her mother was her coach. She would join in watching her father play guitar in several local bands. She was able to go on a Mexican cruise with her mother where her sensitive and empathetic nature showed through as she viewed the homeless, and blind, and gave what she could.
She loved drawing, painting, and any kind of craft projects, her animals, and her family. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her but are comforted by the knowledge that she was welcomed by her grandparents.
Heather is survived by her mother, Jeri Kelsey and father, Gerry Kelsey, Grand Junction, Uncle Jeff Kelsey, Aunt, Kathy Brenholt, and Uncle, Richard Dickinson, Cedar City, and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Stanley and Dona Dickinson, and Leonard and Jean Kelsey.
