Bruce Ren Taylor, 80, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026, in Parowan, Utah. He was born June 16, 1946, in Cedar City, Utah, to Ren and Cleo Bulloch Taylor.
Bruce grew up in Cedar City and spent his summers at the Deep Creek Cabin on Cedar Mountain, developing a lifelong love for the land, ranching, and the simple joys of country life. He married Sandra Strong, and together they had two amazing daughters, Trina and Tiffany, before later divorcing.
Thirty-six years ago, Bruce met the love of his life, Kathryn Allen. They shared a happy marriage, building a family filled with love, memories, and countless good times.
Bruce worked for the Union Pacific Railroad before beginning his 36-year career with the United States Postal Service, where he retired as a letter carrier. He was a hard worker who enjoyed staying busy and living life on his own terms.
In addition to ranching, Bruce loved horse racing and team roping. He looked forward to visiting with his coffee buddies at the Market Grill and making his morning circuit to the farm or the racetrack. These daily routines, familiar faces, and simple moments brought him great happiness.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Kathy; his daughter, Tiffany (Doug) Taylor; and the stepchildren he loved as his own: Debbie (Chad) Robinson; Kristen (Tony) Orton; Melanie (Edward) Del Toro; and Brandon (Stephanie) Allen; 18 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Trina Lowry; his parents, Ren and Cleo Taylor; and his sister, Vicki Rosenberg.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Parowan Chapel, 59 South 100 West, Parowan, Utah. Viewings will be held on Friday, August 28, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary, 190 North 300 West, Cedar City, Utah, and Saturday morning at the church prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Parowan Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
