Cedar City, Utah – The National Park Service will host their Wildlife Extravaganza, a festival focusing on the park’s mammals, plants, and ecology, beginning Friday, June 7th and continuing through Sunday, June 9th. The festival will highlight pollinators, mammals, and birds through activities held at the Visitor Center and the North View Overlook.
Start your visit by picking up a bingo card at the Visitor Center or the North View Overlook! Use it to find common animals around the park and win a sticker once you’ve earned a bingo. At both locations, visit a pop-up table to meet our mammals by touching real pelts from animals found at Cedar Breaks, and learn about how animals adapt to survive. Stop by the Visitor Center to play games and learn about the pollinators at Cedar Breaks, then watch a demonstration on how pollinators use UV light to find nectar. At the Northview Overlook, see bird specimens and learn about the birds we have at Cedar Breaks. Check the display at the Visitor Center for common birds you might see in the park.
To help visitors plan their visit, go to www.nps.gov/cebr/planyourvisit/2021.htm. The webpage includes information about ranger programs, information booths, the park store, entrance pass sales, campground operations, and restrooms. The page will be updated regularly as the season progresses to provide visitors with the most up to date information available.
