Mark W. Mortensen, 66, of Chandler, Arizona, passed away peacefully at home on Christmas morning, December 25, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Born on June 1, 1958, Mark was the son of the late Larry and Joyce Mortensen. He grew up in Cedar City, Utah alongside his siblings: Mel, Marie, and Sam (Stacy) Mortensen. Mark was known for his deep sense of integrity and dependability and also his funny and sarcastic wit.
Mark spent nearly 47 wonderful years married to his devoted wife, Terri. Together, they built a beautiful life and family with their son Ryan. Mark was the proud grandpa to four grandchildren: Luke, Maksim, Axel, and Layla. Who each held a special place in his heart.
Just this fall, Mark was able to attend Ryan’s wedding to Jennifer Son. A welcome addition to the family, who would always make Mark’s face light up. Family gatherings were a blessing and happened frequently.
An adventurous spirit, Mark loved the thrill of motocross, water skiing, snow skiing, and camping. Whether exploring the outdoors or seeking new challenges, he approached life with passion and enthusiasm.
Mark worked for many years as a semiconductor manufacturing technician, where his skill, precision, and dedication earned him the respect of his colleagues. His professionalism and work ethic were a testament to the values he upheld in all areas of his life.
Mark’s legacy is one of kindness, strength, and unwavering reliability. He was always there for his loved ones, and his memory will continue to inspire those who knew him. Mark will be deeply missed by his wife, son, grandchildren, extended family, and friends, but his spirit will live on in the many lives he touched.
The family will have a celebration of life later this spring. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mark’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
