Lela Hooper (born Lela Morrill) passed away on March 11, 2026 at Our House Assisted Living in Cedar  City, Utah at the age of 90. Lela was born on May 15, 1935 in Tridell, Utah to Ivan Morrill and Wanda  Lamoreaux. 

Lela lived a wonderful childhood in Tridell, surrounded by many siblings and cousins. Upon graduating  from Union High School in 1953, Lela decided to devote herself to nursing and worked at the LDS Hospital and  Primary Children’s Hospital. She excelled in this field and spent many years in Rockford, Illinois as a registered  nurse and later as a surgical nurse. She was well known for her terrific beside manners and she touched many lives  for the better. Lela married Dean Hooper on October 7, 1966 and was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus  Christ of Latter-Day Saints. 

Lela was preceded in death by bother of her parents, her husband, Dean Hooper, her siblings, Dellis  Morril, Leila Houtz, Deloy Morrill, and Elvin Morrill. She is survived by her sister, Ann Maguire of Cedar City,  Utah. Lela loved her family and friends and was always looking or the nest adventure! She had a special place in  her heart for her nieces and nephews and was proud of her title, “Aunt Lela.” 

Funeral services will be held March 21, 2026 at 12:00 pm at the Tridell LDS Chapel. Interment will be on  the same day at the Tridell City Cemetery at 2:00 pm under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online  condolences can be shared on the website www.mortuary.org.
