It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved sweetheart soul of a sister, Danielle Barr-Devenny, who departed from our lives much too soon on May 25th, 2024. She was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, and friend, with the most radiant spirit.

Dani was born on July 26th, 1973, in Orange County, CA to adoring parents Jessie Laggis and Kenneth Barr. She was the youngest of four and the favorite of her three siblings. When Dani was three the family moved to Parowan, Utah. Dani was raised in Parowan, where she graduated from Parowan High School. In her pursuit of knowledge and understanding, Danielle embarked on a journey of education that culminated in her earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah.

Danielle moved to Page, AZ, in 2022 to be closer to her family after the passing of her husband, the love of her life John Devenny. John and Dani met in Palm Springs, CA and were inseparable. John adored Dani and was always there for her and her boys. He helped them grieve through the loss of her darling son Dillon Stein in 2017. John Devenny sadly passed in 2021.

Beyond her academic achievements, Danielle possessed warmth and empathy that endeared her to everyone she met. She loved her four children dearly and had a unique ability to connect with others on a deep level, offering support and compassion in times of need.

Although Danielle may have left this world prematurely, her spirit will live on in the memories and hearts of those she leaves behind. Dani was still deeply suffering from the loss of her son Dillion Stein, and her husband John Devenny. She will be greatly missed by her family, her two sons Jason Marshall and Mathison Marshall and her daughter Morgan Sharp, her mother Jessie Laggis her siblings Kandace Barr, Stacy Barr and Steve Barr.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to her sons Jason Marshall (19) and Mathison Marshall (14) at the GoFundMe page Supporting Danielle’s Young Sons in Grief.

A celebration of Danielle’s life will be held in Page, AZ, date and location TBD. We invite all who knew and loved her to join us in honoring her memory and sharing stories of her life. For more info, please contact Stacy at [email protected].

Though she may no longer be with us in body, Danielle’s spirit will continue to shine brightly, guiding us with love and light as we navigate the days ahead “and will continue motivating us to be our most genuine, and loving selves.”. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing she was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
