John Joseph Cimon

John Joseph Cimon, age 81, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on September 4, 2025, in St George, Utah. He was born on November 26, 1943, in Peabody, Massachusetts, to Mary Adams. He was raised in Peabody and Lynn, Massachusetts by his mother Mary and his step father Walter Welch.

After his school years he was employed as a heavy equipment operator. He met the love of his life, Rose Marie Salvo, at a local rodeo. They married on October 31, 1963 and later sealed in the St George Temple on May 20, 2017. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two children. John was a very hard worker and while raising a family often worked two jobs. He was employed as a tire technician who specialized in truck and heavy equipment tires. He traveled the Northeast changing tires on equipment that no one else could change. He later worked as a truck driver hauling hazardous materials. Even with John working a lot he always made time for his family. They enjoyed cross country road trips every summer and he always attended hid kids activities. He was also very active in the boy scouts with his son. After his kids were grown, John and Rose enjoyed collecting Precious Moments and made many great friends through the PM club they joined. They enjoyed many cruises and trips with friends. When John retired in 2005, they moved to Cedar City, Utah. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his wife Rose, his brother Walter and his sister in law Diane. John is survived by his son, John (Nina) Cimon, of Peabody, Massachusetts; daughter, Kim (Steven) Hopkins, of Cedar City, Utah; Four grandchildren; Justin, Emily (Wesley), Kendra, and Ashly (Bryson); and 3 great-grandchildren; Wilson, Owen and Maiya. He is also survived by his sister, Ellen (James) Nadeau of Peoria, Arizona; brother, Michael (Paula) Welch of Beverly, Massachusetts; and many nieces and nephews.

The viewing will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 9:30 am MDT at the South Mountain Ward, 800 South Laurie Lane, Cedar City, Utah, 84720.
