The 46th Annual Paiute Restoration Gathering Pow-Wow was a two-day event held in Cedar City, Utah, and hosted by the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah at their outdoor arbor. This annual gathering celebrates the restoration of the tribe’s federal recognition and honors Paiute culture, heritage, and community.

The free, family-friendly event featured contest dancing, traditional singing, a beautiful flag ceremony, and a parade of colorful regalia worn by participants of all ages. Under clear, beautiful skies, the celebration brought people together until the event returns again next year.

Participants traveled from nearby reservations throughout the Southwest, including the Navajo Nation in Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah; the Hopi Tribe in Arizona; and various Ute and Shoshone tribes from Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, and California.

Today, a pow-wow is an intertribal celebration where people gather to honor their heritage, pass down traditions, socialize, and celebrate through drumming, singing, and competitive dancing. The Pow-Wow brought many tribes together under the open sky for spiritual enrichment of body, mind, and spirit through sacred songs, dances, and shared traditions.

The gathering created a positive and meaningful experience for the dancers, drummers, families, and all who came to watch and celebrate.
