Roger Cramer

(1944 – 2026)

Roger Cramer, 81, passed away on March 7, 2026, in Cedar City, Utah, following a courageous battle with MS and COPD. A man defined by his resilience and work ethic, Roger is finally at rest.

Born in Los Angeles on April 3, 1944, to Byron and Audrey Cramer, Roger was raised in Southern California. He was a proud graduate of Reseda High School, where he formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. In his youth, Roger was known for his love of fishing, cars, and girls—most notably seen behind the wheel of his prized Corvette. To his cousins, he wasn’t just a relative; he was “the coolest guy ever.”

Roger’s character was forged early on by his close bond with his Grandpa Rasher, who taught him the value of a hard day’s work. A true “Jack of All Trades,” Roger’s skills spanned construction, electrical work, and roofing. After living in California, Idaho, and Missouri, he settled in Cedar City in 1978. He worked at the local mines and Cedar Products before finding his home at the Town & Country Inn. As the maintenance lead, Roger took immense pride in every task, from plowing snow and making keys to ensuring the pool was pristine for guests. Following his retirement, he showed his deep capacity for love by moving in with his mother to care for her during her final years.

Roger lived by the motto “work hard, play hard.” He was an adventurer at heart who loved riding the dunes, boating at Lake Powell, and golfing—a passion that culminated in a celebrated hole-in-one at the Cedar City course. At home, he was a talented cook and maintained a yard that was always immaculate. He never met a joke he didn’t like or a person he wouldn’t help.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Audrey; his stepfather, Don Coe; and his brother, Bruce.

Roger’s legacy lives on through his children, Christine and Brandon (Jessica); his grandchildren, Shelby, Blake, Heidi (Yardley) and Kayla (Roy). His great grandchildren Harper, Jessi, and Krue (Yardley). And his cousin—who was truly his sister at heart—Letha Houts.

Per Roger’s request, no formal services will be held. Instead, his family asks that you raise a beer in his honor and remember a man who lived life with everything he had.
