Live music and art displays combine for a pleasant summer evening on Friday, July 31, from 5 to 8 pm in Cedar City. The Final Friday Art Walk stretches from the Artisans Gallery to the Southern Utah Museum of Art on University Blvd (Center Street) and down 100 West. Both the Kolob Gallery and the Gold River Gallery at 111 South Main participate. This is a FREE community event.
A new musician for July is Eli Wrankle, violinist of 3hattrio, at the Shape Theory Ceramics Community Studio. Singer songwriter Jason Tyler Burton is also at this location. Badwater will be at the IG Winery and the Blue Ponies at the Johnson Center. The full musician schedule is below. “It is wonderful that the local musicians share their talents as part of the Art Walk. It definitely adds a crucial element to the event,” said Roger Gold, CCAC President.
You can find the Sagebrush Fabric Artisans demonstrating spinning wheels and other fabric art next to the Leavitt Building near the artist displays. Art displays range from the Southern Utah Watercolor Society to jewelry, pottery, and photography. Artists are welcome to set up on the lawn at the corner of 100 West Center from 4 to 5 p.m. No vendor fee and please save room for the acoustic musicians. Art tables can go down the street to the Johnson Art Center.
The family friendly event includes free art supplies for children at the Cedar City Arts Council table. Children’s books are welcome for regifting.
