By Jennifer Springer, For Iron County Today
Iron County Today would like to ensure members of the community are aware of a new date, time, and location of Calvary Chapel’s 23rd annual Hallelujah Night. This free, family-oriented event will be held on Saturday, October 26 from 4-7pm. While the event will still take place on the SUU campus, it will now be located in the grass lot west of Eccles Coliseum instead of the PE Building parking lot, which is currently hosting a construction project.
Calvary Chapel Cedar City has been hosting this event on Halloween night for over two decades; this event has and always will be free to the community. Due to the construction of SUU’s new music building, event organizers worked with Pastor Joe and other leaders at Calvary and came up with a plan on the location change. Calvary further decided changing the event’s date and time to earlier in the month on a Saturday and earlier in the day would make the event even more attractive to the community it serves.
This event has enjoyed both the involved presence and full support from a variety of business and public service sectors from our community that make this event so memorable. Attendees can expect to enjoy free popcorn that Megaplex theaters partners with Calvary to offer. The Cedar City Fire Department and Police Department will also be on site with their equipment to greet guests who come to the event. SUU Aviation proudly offers its own helicopter demonstration at this event, and Fun Time Inflatables brings out a variety of its bounce houses and the like for children to enjoy for free.
Crossover FM, a local Christian radio station, also supports this event, and over 100 volunteers and around 500 lbs of donated candy from Calvary’s church attendees make this event one you won’t want to miss as it has moved to its new location with a new date and time of Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 4-7pm.
In addition to all these features, Hallelujah Night has numerous game booths. At Start Your Donuts, players eat their own glazed donut in a race against other players—but with their hands tied behind their backs and each donut dangling above! (It’s a lot harder—and messier— than you think!). Other booths bear catchy names such as Lord of the Rings, Cow-a-Bunga, and Cliff Jumpers (want to see pigs fly? Then you’ll want to try that one out!).
So come on out on Saturday, October 26 from 4-7pm to get you and your family free popcorn, free cotton candy, free face painting, free game booths with candy, all at a safe, Bible-themed event hosted by Calvary Chapel Cedar City
