Cedar City: The Cedar City Arts Council invites you to the September 27 Final Friday Art Walk. This is the final event of the season featuring live music, art exhibits, and art demonstrations. It is designed as a family-friendly free evening at 5 to 8 p.m. from Artisans to the Southern Utah Music of Art and down to the Johnson Art Center. The new galleries at 111 South Main Street will also be open: Kolob Gallery and Gold River Gallery.
“We have had a fantastic season and we appreciate all of the artists and musicians who provide this magical evening for all ages,” said Roger Gold, CCAC President.
Guitarist Peter Buis will play at Artisans. Jim Howells, A Walk to Somewhere and the SideNote vocal quartet will be at the lawn near the Leavitt Building. The Nielsen Family is set for country music at “Home on the Range” at the corner of 100 West Center.
The Sagebrush Fabric Artisans will be demonstrating on the east side of the Leavitt Building at 100 West University Boulevard (Center). Check out the art galleries for additional art demonstrations.
The Johnson Art Center will have Samuel Allen and Cedar Jazz for their music starting at 6 p.m. There will also be jazz at the IG Winery with MB3.
Artist displays and vendors will be at the Southern Utah Museum of Art as well as live music. This is also the location to turn in entries for the Cedar Livestock & Heritage Festival Art and Photography Contest. Students from kindergarten through high school are invited to enter for prizes up to $100 in three age groups sponsored by the Festival. Sept. 27 is the entry deadline. Forms and more information on the CCAC social media and at https://cedarcityartscouncil.blogspot.com/2024/08/art-and-photography-contest-for-2024.html. Student art will be exhibited as part of the Festival starting Oct. 25.
Paintings, photography, jewelry, and other arts are welcome at the Art Walk. Set up displays about 4:30 p.m. and save room for the musicians at the lawn at 100 West Center. There is no vendor fee. In addition to coordinating the event the CCAC has free art supplies for students so stop by their table.
Come and join the fun on Friday, Sept. 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. CCAC is supported by members and donors, plus grants from the RAP (Recreation, Arts, and Parks) fund, and the Division of Arts and Museums. Follow us on Social Media for updates at CedarCityArts.
