Cedar City, Utah (June 17, 2024) Each year Progressive Grocer receives over a thousand nominations for its Top Women in Grocery (TWIG) awards. This year, Rochelle Mellor, the store director at Lin’s Market in Cedar City, Utah, was awarded one of the prestigious awards.
Rochelle has worked for Lin’s Market for over 22 years and her passion shows through in everything she does. Rochelle’s commitment to working with her teams to provide the best shopping experience for her guests has received recognition within the company and the wider community. Under her direction Lin’s Cedar City received the “Best in County” award for providing exceptional customer service. In 2023, Lin’s Market’s meat department earned the prestigious title “Number One in Iron County.”
This commitment goes beyond the store. Rochelle is extremely involved in the Cedar City community. Cedar City is home to Southern Utah University (SUU) and throughout the years, Rochelle and her team have partnered with the university on several events. Her relationship with SUU has allowed Lin’s and Southern Utah to magnify the store’s community efforts.
This year, during SUU’s football season, Lin’s Market organized a food drive for the local Hope Pantry, addressing the prevalent challenge of food insecurity among SUU students. Under Rochelle’s leadership, the initiative aimed to gather the weight of the football team in food donations. Collection stations were strategically placed at Lin’s Cedar City location leading up to one of the biggest games of the season. The outcome was remarkable, with Lin’s Market surpassing its goal by collecting 4,467 pounds of food.
“I feel very blessed to be a part of the Lin’s family,” said Mellor. “I love working for a company that places so much emphasis on giving back to the community. I have an amazing team that makes all this possible. We are a family and I’m grateful to have them at my side.”
