Cedar City, UT – On June 12, 2024, at approximately 3:30 PM, Cedar City Police responded to a violent incident between a motorcycle rider and the driver of a passenger vehicle. The initial altercation began with a physical confrontation in downtown Cedar City.
The situation escalated as the confrontation resumed near the intersection of Fiddlers Canyon Road and Main Street. During this escalation, the motorcycle rider allegedly produced a handgun and shot the driver of the passenger vehicle.
Following the shooting, the motorcycle rider left the scene but was apprehended moments later by police at a nearby residence. The suspect is currently in police custody.
Emergency medical personnel were quickly on the scene and provided critical care to the victim, who was subsequently airlifted to St. George Regional Hospital. The victim is in critical condition.
At this time, Cedar City Police are not seeking additional suspects. However, this remains an ongoing investigation.
