On Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 8:43 a.m., Cedar City firefighters responded to a reported residential structure fire located in the 2300 block of West Meadow Street in Cedar City. The fire was called in by a neighbor after smoke was seen coming from the window and no people were inside the enflamed home at the time.

Upon arrival, firefighters assessed the scene and quickly knocked down the fire.  It was determined the fire started in the kitchen but the cause continues to be under investigation. 17 personnel responded to the scene including one fire engine, one ladder truck, one brush engine, one heavy rescue apparatus, and two command vehicles. Cedar City firefighters also received support from Cedar City Police Department and Gold Cross Ambulance. No people or animals were injured from the fire and the home is standing with minor smoke damage.
