James Adrian Towner, age 74 passed away peacefully at home in Cedar City, Utah on September 26th, 2024 after a battle with cancer. He was born on February 9th, 1950 in Floyd, Iowa to Jack Frederick Towner and Myrtle Ruth Suelflow. He had one brother Thomas Towner, who passed away seven years ago. He was raised in Charles City, Iowa on a dairy farm. After graduation, he attended Dr. Martin Luther College. 

He was first married to Patti Drill and they had two boys, Aaron and Justin James Towner. He has two grandchildren, Crosby and Sloan. Vicki Rae Towner was currently married to Jamie with three children, Jason, Christina and Kelley Wright. His profession was in eye care for ophthalmology and Optometry where he also lectured across the country for Twin Cities Optical in Paraoptometrics. 

James attended the Trinity Lutheran Church here in Cedar City and served as an Elder. He was an avid fisherman, wilderness and camping person. He loved to read and collect old books. He was a man of strong faith had a love for family and his beloved dogs. He will be missed by many friends and family. 

Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on November 9th at 2:00pm. There will be a reception at the church after the service. We moved to Cedar City from Huntsville, Texas to retire.
