He attended Kanarraville Elementary and continued his education in Cedar City, attending Cedar City schools.
After graduating High School, Scott took medical courses at Southern Utah State College and Dixie College.
Scott served in the Army where he received many awards for his behavior, attitude, and actions. Scott returned home from serving his country in 1968 when his father passed away.
Scott was a true cowboy at heart, his love for animals and the outdoors was evident with his connection to his country way of life. He enjoyed hunting, training horses and had a passion for leather work. The only time he left Kanarraville for any length of time was when he purchased a hunting ranch in Idaho. He guided hunters on horseback in the rugged Idaho Mountains and fished in the Salmon River. He was very involved in rodeo, competing in Bareback Riding and Steer Wrestling at many different levels. He traveled many miles enjoying rodeos with his friends and family. Scott had many occupations, he was a horseshoer, construction worker and horse trainer. Scott had many true friends that he called family, he loved, his cowboy spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to share their lives with him.
Even though he never had kids of his own, he helped raise many young children, sharing his knowledge of animals and especially his love of horses to kids of all ages.
Under his soft personality he had a great sense of humor and those closest to him knew he had a wild streak.
Scott leaves behind niece Belinda (Reed) Rowley, nephew John Berry and niece Cindy Berry Haynie, brother-in-law Jay Peck and many great nieces and nephews. Scott will be dearly missed by many friends and family.
