Doris Le Bunn Lowry peacefully passed away into the arms of her sweetheart March 5, 2025 in Cedar City, Utah. This was a much anticipated reunion after a 25 year wait. We can only imagine her joy surrounded by those who have gone before her.

She was born in her family home, April 27, 1928, in Lanark, Idaho, to Thomas Edgar and Lila Ann Bunn. She was raised in Lanark through the fourth grade, before the family moved to Boise Idaho.

She married Lee R. Lowry Jr., December 27th, 1945 in Long Beach, California, after a whirlwind romance with her returning sailor from WWII. She had found the light of her life and was thrilled to have the role of being his wife. She put her whole heart into building their family. Their marriage was solemnized July 21st, 1962, in the Manti Temple.

Together, she and Lee had the opportunity to see the world through a variety of job opportunities, which took them and their 5 children to live in many states and led them on further adventures in British Columbia, Newfoundland, and Cienfuegos, Cuba. While she was content to stay in the background due to her quiet nature, she recognized doors of opportunity for her family with each move.

Her creative spirit as a homemaker helped us all to realize that wherever you were, as long as it was with the people you love, it was home. She was an extraordinary homemaker, cook, seamstress and loved needle work. Flowers and nature were a source of delight. She was an artist, and we count ourselves lucky to have her paintings in our homes. An avid reader, she built her knowledge over the years, and her passion for literature has been passed down through the generations. No grandchild has ever been with “Grandma Pink”, that hasn’t enjoyed a snuggle, song or a story. Her magic was felt. She celebrated, believed in and completely loved each one.

Doris was a member of the LDS Church, proud of her pioneer heritage, and served faithfully in her callings. She has always had an abiding faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ and believed firmly in an eternal plan.

She is survived by her five children: Kathleen Lowry, Cedar City, UT. Micheal Lee (Jeniel) Lowry, Helena, MT. Shannon Lea (Burt) Poulsen, Cedar City, UT. Kelley Ann (Mont) Forsyth, Bicknell UT. Lee Robert (Jo) Lowry, Merlin, Oregon. 27 grandchildren. 66 great grandchildren. 10 great great grandchildren, plus one on the way. One sister-in-law Marion Eliason, Brookings, SD. Two sisters Maxine Stark, Boise Idaho. Lenis Pedregal, Chicago, Illinois. Numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Lee R. Lowry Jr, Cedar City, UT. Her parents Thomas Edgar and Lila Ann Bunn Boise, Idaho. Three beloved grandchildren, Issac Forsyth, Roy UT. Jacob Peter Lowry, Helen MT. Emily Lowry, Helena MT.

Funeral services will be held Monday March 10th, 2025 North Cedar Stake Center (95 North 2125 West Cedar City UT). Viewing 10am to 11:30am funeral at 12pm. Interment Cedar City Cemetery next to her loving husband under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences www.mortuary.org. Funeral will be live streamed.
