Introductory and intermediate classes give students a chance to experiment with a variety of art media as well as to complete a visual art project that will be featured in the “Painting for Pets” fundraiser included in the annual North Elementary Spring Open House set for May 1..
The “Painting for Pets” sale and display will benefit local animal control shelters based in Enoch City, Cedar City and Iron County locations.
This month, North Elementary will host a second Series, “Art Studio with the Masters” which will invite third, fourth and fifth grade students to explore the work and painting styles of artistic masters like Picasso, Van Gogh and Monet. The “Masters” Series will provide an overview of the Great Works as well as opportunity to develop their own hands-on artistic works.
“The Painting for Pets” display will feature student-completed art work with all proceeds earmarked for local animal shelter adoption efforts. These and many other student-based science and art projects will be on display at North Elementary’s STEAM Night on May 1, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
