Cedar City Worship Fest joins evangelical Christian church worship teams together to play in the park for an afternoon of music, fellowship, and fun.
The event was started several years ago by the evangelical Christian clubs on SUU’s campus, and it has continued on since the founders graduated. Rather than holding the event in the spring again, the event has been moved to fall in hopes of warmer weather for its attendees.
“We’ve been really encouraged by the turnout the past few years, and we’re looking forward to another good turnout,” said Steven Walquist, coordinator of the event.
The event is looked forward to by many from around Cedar City. The church bands will each play between 20 and 30 minutes, and the groups will finish with a combined piece at the end.
Some of the worship bands who will be involved include Calvary Chapel Cedar City, Community Presbyterian Church, Red Hills Southern Baptist Church, Sonrise Christian Fellowship, and True Life Center (TLC).
“This is a time other than Sunday that we can all come together as a community,” said Walquist.
“Everyone enjoys seeing friends from around town and from different congregations.”
He said the coordinators and various churches are looking forward to the event and encourages everyone in the community to attend.
