Gaylen J. Matheson and Alice Gay Johnson Matheson of Cedar City celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 25, 2012. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 25, 1952. They are the parents of nine children – Marie (Lyman) Huntsman, Evan (Peggy) Matheson, Carol (Kent) Sevy, Elaine (Lawrence) Esplin, Janet (Stan) Torgersen, Sharon (Neil) Giles, Gaylen (Amy) Matheson, Sue (Dan) Dalton, and Gaye (Rich) Christiansen. An anniversary celebration was held June 15-16 in St. George with their extended family. Forty-seven grand-children, 55 great-grandchildren, and four more soon-to-arrive great-grandchildren have blessed their lives.
