On March 24, the Redmen Jazz Ensemble performed at the State Jazz Festival at Murray High School. After an outstanding performance, they earned straight superiors ratings for the fifth consecutive year. There were only nine schools in the entire state that received straight superior ratings, and the only other 3A school to do so was Park City.
In addition to the three pieces performed at the State Jazz Festival, the ensemble will present a tribute to “Disney.”
The Percussion Ensemble might very well be the best the school has ever had. They are playing harder music than the group has attempted before. They will perform four selections, each in a different style. From classical to rock ‘n’ roll to to funk, there will be something for everyone. Two of the percussion ensembles qualified for the state festival on April 28.
