Diversity Martial Arts sent representatives to a world competition and brought home top honors.
Deon Beatty, instructor and owner of DMA, won the black belt world championship in women’s 35 plus point sparring and women’s 35 plus creative forms. Her daughter Drew, also an instructor at DMA, took home second place in black belt point sparring and fourth in traditional forms.
Fernando Lopez won the title in amateur point sparring for 15-17 year old boys; Olivia Hedrick placed third in blackbelt girls team fighting, blackbelt point sparring (10-11 year olds) and won the amateur title for advanced Korean forms; and Jason Guy won the amateur world title for 17 and under choreographed fight and second in advanced Korean forms.
