Miss Iron County Pageant on Saturday

CEDAR CITY–The Miss Iron County Scholarship Pageant has given young women in our community the opportunity to serve county residents and further their education through competition.  The Miss Iron Pageant, over 70 years in the making and in conjunction with the Iron County Fair, has produced 3 Miss Utah’s and has given thousands in scholarship awards.

This year’s group of seven young ladies is no exception.  With dedication to their platforms, fundraising for the Children’s Miracle Network, contributing service hours, as well as talent, the new Miss Iron County will be sure to make our community proud.  The soon to be crowned Miss Iron County will represent our citizens at the Miss Utah pageant in June 2019.

Along with the Miss Iron County Pageant, the Miss Iron County Organization has opted to bring the Miss Outstanding Teen and Little Miss competitions into the program.  This year there will be three competitors in the Outstanding Teen division and two in the Little Miss. They will compete on the same stage and night as the Miss Iron County contestants.

The pageant will take place on Saturday, Aug. 11, at 7 p.m. at the Canyon View High School Auditorium.  Admission fee for the competition; children 5-17 and seniors 65+ $5, all other adults are $8.

Our outgoing Miss Iron County, Josie Jones,  crowns the new Little Miss, Miss Outstanding Teen and Miss Iron County 2018. Master of Ceremonies for the Miss Iron County Pageant is the Honorable Mayor Maile Wilson-Edwards and Mrs. Becki Bronson, Miss Iron County 1994 and Miss SUU 1996.
