Finding ways to score touchdowns had been a challenge for the offense of the Cedar Redmen in the first two weeks. In one glorious fourth-quarter effort, the unit was at last able to support what the defense gave them.

Cedar put together a 10-point fourth-quarter rally capped by a touchdown pass from Mike Anker to Tavian Brown that was good for a 17-13 road win – its first of the season – over North Sanpete on Sept. 1 to wrap up non-region play.

Luke Maggio added a touchdown run for Cedar (1-2) in the first quarter that tied the game at 7-7, but the Hawks took the lead back in the third when quarterback Spencer Steadman scored on a 30-yard run.

Zane Montgomery got Cedar closer with a 41-yard field goal early in the fourth before Anker came through with the winning touchdown pass.

The Redmen will open Region 9 play Friday at Canyon View in a 7 p.m. kickoff.
