CEDAR CITY– Newly appointed head volleyball coach Pete Hoyer has announced his staff for the upcoming season, as both Lorelle Hoyer and Annie Stephens will serve as assistant coaches for Hoyer moving forward into the 2018 season.

“We’re excited with the staff we have,” Pete Hoyer said. “We’re going to be good in the gym, we’re going to be good when it comes to recruiting, it’s going to be very well balanced for us.”

Most recently, Lorelle was the Director of Volleyball Operations at the University of Texas San Antonio, where she’d collaborate with the marketing team and game operations staff to help home contests run smoothly, assist with team travel and create recruiting materials.

She has also spent some time in the club ranks, where she just wrapped up a tenure serving as the Assistant Program Coordinator for the Alamo Volleyball Association while working for UTSA.

Lorelle’s collegiate volleyball experience began with a four-year career as a student-athlete at the University of Connecticut. She also served as a Graduate Assistant for North Carolina Central University.

Stephens is a former Thunderbird student-athlete, and has served as an assistant coach for the last three seasons. Along with her various coach duties, Stephens also served as Southern Utah’s camp coordinator. Stephens was a four-year student-athlete for Southern Utah and holds the single-match record for hitting percentage.
