The Canyon View Falcons hit the road for the first time under new head coach Skyler Miller, and while a few more points showed up on the scoreboard, the end result showed how much more work lies ahead.

Virgin Valley took a 12-0 halftime lead, then scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter that helped secure a 31-12 victory over the Falcons on Aug. 25 in Mesquite. Hunter Anderson ran for a third-quarter touchdown to give CV its first points of the season in the third quarter, and quarterback Colten Shumway threw a fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Tyler Nelson, who finished with two catches for 58 yards.

But the show for the Bulldogs clearly belonged to Jayden Perkins, who ran for a touchdown and caught three more passes for scores in the victory.

The Falcons will return home this week to face 5A school Timpanogos on Friday at 7 p.m.
