Interfaith Patriots’ Program set for Sept. 10

PAROWAN—The Parowan Area Interfaith Council is sponsoring a 9-11 Patriot’s Program for the public. The purpose is to honor our “Everyday Heroes.”

The city’s three faiths—United Methodists, Grace Christian, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, are putting on the program on Sunday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 190 North Main in Parowan. The council is chaired by Jim and Gail Harris, with council members Pastor JeriLee Harrell-Leeper, Pastor Rob Bernhardi and Dave Mineer Jr.

The council seeks to build unity among the faiths and the citizenry. This is done by honoring our area public servants: police, firefighters, veterans, EMTs, and Search and Rescue. This year, we wish to specifically honor our Everyday Heroes who fought the Brian Head fire.

In our program, we involve all three faiths, school children, music, and roll call for our public responders who are ultimately our Everyday Heroes. We wish to create the opportunity to express our gratitude to them.
