Daniel Macfarlane Jones, 71, was called to serve as the temple president with his wife JoAnn Duncan Jones as temple patron, according to a LDS Church press release.
The couple, who are a part of the the Greens Lake Ward in the Cedar City Utah Stake, have served and lived in the area for many years.
Daniel Jones, born in Cedar City, currently serves as a regional Public Affairs specialists, temple ordinance worker and sealer. He is a former Area Seventy, counselor in the St. George Temple presidency, president of the Australia Perth Mission, stake president, bishop and patriarch. He is also a retired administrator of the Church Education System.
JoAnn Jones has served as a regional Public Affairs specialist and a temple ordinance worker. She served with her husband while in Australia Perth Mission. She is a former assistant to the matron of the St. George Temple, stake relief society and young women president, stake young women presidency counselor and ward relief society and primary president.
The Jones’ were unavailable for comment of their newly called positions.
