CEDAR CITY–August is already here, and fall is almost upon us. Come enjoy the remaining days of summer by attending the Cedar City Arts Council’s third Art Walk of the season! The event will take place on Aug. 31 and it will feature multiple talented artists from this community. The Final Friday Art Walks feature various art forms; live jazz, contemporary and classical music, and art demonstrations.
The Cedar City Arts Council invites you to the remaining Final Friday Art Walks on Aug. 31 and Sept. 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. The Final Friday Art Walks are free events, and everyone is encouraged to attend.
Live music and art exhibits and demonstrations make for a fun filled event for the entire family! This free community event is sponsored by the Cedar City Arts Council.
The third Final Friday Art Walk will feature many gifted artists. There will be artist demonstrations and exhibits, from The Sagebrush Fiber Artisans Guild, Twisted Sister and Sunshine Pearl Dives Jewelry on the lawn at 100 West and Center. Season tickets for the Cedar City Music Arts series and The Orchestra of Southern Utah will be located on the lawn at 100 West and Center.
Artisans Gallery will host vocal artist Roice Nelson from 6 to 7 p.m. with original songs, followed by violinist Alex Szuhay from 7 to 8 p.m., and artist Tina Davis will have a display at the gallery. ArtWorks Gallery will host vocal performances by Sofie Scaletta from 5 to 8 p.m. Painter and sculptor Victoria Wagner will be displaying her creations at ArtWorks Gallery. IG Winery will host a performance by the MB3 Jazz Quartet from 5 to 7 p.m.
The Red Rock Flute Choir will be performing at 6 p.m. in front of Stone Path at 150 West University (Center). This group is comprised of flutists from throughout Washington County. They originated because of their contact with each other through various other groups such as DSU Flute Choir, Washington City Concert Band and Southwest Symphony. Their musical repertoire includes classical, modern, popular, show tunes, religious pieces and marches. Joey Favino will be doing art demonstrations and has an exhibit inside Stone Path.
Canyon Reverb, a musical group whose concentration ranges from love songs from the 30’s to contemporary country, will be performing at the SUMA plaza from 5 to 6 p.m. Off the Cuff improv will be in the gallery from 6 to 7 p.m., and from 7 to 8 p.m., the Southern Utah String Quartet will perform in the gallery.
