CEDAR CITY–The 16th Annual Southern Utah Seniors Conference, titled “Navigating the Area Agency on Aging,” will be held on May 4, 2018, at the Heritage Center 105 N 100 East in Cedar City. The conference will have attendance with seniors from all Five Counties. The resource fair will begin at 9 a.m. and offer good referral and information for the seniors.
Keynote session speaker will be Carrie Schonlaw, Area Agency on Aging, Five County Director. She will be joined by Area Agency on Aging Home and Community based program Director Tracy HeavyRunner. The Area Agency on Aging is part of Five County Association of Governments. Together they will discuss funding, needs and opportunities in our community for healthy and happy aging.
Breakout sessions will include dealing with fraud, and how to get involved at the Senior Center from activities to volunteering, educational activities and experiences and Caregiver services, support and education. We are hoping to share our resources as the Five County Aging Staff with our community.
