A Cedar City man was taken into custody after stealing a bike at Lin’s Marketplace last Wednesday and assaulting a police officer.

Jack Kenneth Good matched the description of what witnesses said they saw steal a bike in the area of Lin’s Marketplace, located at 150 N. Main Street, Cedar City Police Sgt. Jerry Womack said.

“When officers tried to talk to him he became aggressive and basically challenged them to a fight,” Womack said. “He actively fought the officers until they deployed a Taser and could take him into custody.”

Good eventually showed the officers where he “stashed” the boke and was later arrested and booked on charges of assaulting a police officer, a class A misdemeanor and theft of $500 or less, a class B misdemeanor.

Good is still in custody at the time of this publication. His bail is $5,00 cash only, according to Iron County booking information.
