Linda Carol DeLong Speirs


Linda Carol DeLong Speirs passed away on June 8, 2017. She was born on October 21, 1951 in Panguitch, Utah. She married Orin Speirs in Cedar City, Utah. Linda was a resident of Cedar City for over 60 years. She was a member of the LDS Church in the Cottonwood Ward. Linda was known for making beautiful quilts. Quilting and crocheting were a couple of her favorite past times as well as going to the hills and having BBQ’s with her children and grandchildren. She loved her grand babies more than anything.

Linda is survived by her children: William R. DeLong of Canyonville, OR; Mary Karen (Kim) Hunter of Cedar City, UT; Belinda Williams of Cedar City; John (Valerie) Perfect of Spring Creek, NV; sister Delilah Davis of Salt Lake City, UT; brother Edwin (Debbie) DeLong of Springville, UT; 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and 1 coming in July.

She is preceded in death by her parents Carlos Alvin DeLong and Thella Shakespear; her husband; sisters Carla Herberger, Elouise Talley; brothers Morris, Gaylen, Alvin, Richard and David DeLong; and grandson Orin Kade Perfect.

She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Enoch West Stake Center (3575 N Minersville Hwy, Enoch, UT). A viewing will be held Monday, June 12th at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 N 300 W, Cedar City, UT) from 6-8:00 pm. A viewing will be held Tuesday, June 13th at the Stake Center from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Interment will be in the Enoch Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
