She was born in Salt Lake City, grew up in Utah and was a lifelong member of the LDS Church.
She earned a teaching credential form Utah State University in Logan and upon graduation, moved to Southern California to pursue her career in education. She taught in the Moreno Valley Unified School District for 30-plus years.
AnnLee is survived by her brother, Jerry Heck; her sisters, Elaine Kirby and Virginia Braziel; and her dear friends, Nancy and Wayne Newman, who cared for her during the last years of her life.
AnnLee will be buried at Elysian Burial Gardens in Salt Lake City, Utah, and a memorial service will take place in September.
AnnLee devoted her life to children and was always an advocate for them.
She was a gifted teacher and never had a student she didn’t love.
AnnLee had an adventurous spirit. She loved to travel and read. She especially enjoyed reading Shakespeare and the classics. She shared her love of literature in the book clubs she organized during her lifetime.
AnnLee was always a loyal and devoted friend, and she will live in our hearts forever.
