Milton R. Farney, 88, passed away on December 8, 2017, at home with his family. Milt was born on 1929 to Jasper and Evelyn Farney in Santa Ana, Calif. He graduated from Santa Ana High School in 1947 and subsequently served in the Army during the Korean War.
An avid pilot, Milt earned single and multi-engine for both land and sea instrument, commercial and glider ratings and continued to fly into his 80’s. A true adventurer, Milt and a friend were the first to circumnavigate Baja, California aboard a 17-foot outboard motor boat.
Milt was an accomplished photographer and cinematographer working for Jack Douglas Productions in Hollywood, filming numerous documentaries and travel adventure shows. After marrying and starting a family, he pursued real estate in both California and Utah. He developed a successful recreation community in Southern Utah, complete with a private airstrip. Milt, “The Red Baron,” had a contagious zest for life and was a passionate traveler, visiting six continents.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy, his five daughters and five grandchildren.
