John G. Healey

John G. Healey, 75, passed away on March 25, 2018, at home in New Harmony, Utah. John was born in McKees Rocks, Penn., on December 11, 1942, to John and Florence Healey, brother to James, Patricia and Kay. He grew up in Pittsburgh, Penn., and finished his high school there. 

 In 1961, John moved to Arizona, and found his future spouse, Sybil Rogers, in Western Phoenix. They were married in 1964, and went on to become parents to Denise, John Gerald III, Shannan, James (Rocky) and Allison. John and Sybil were married for 53 years. 

 John was an apprentice in the construction industry, and when he completed that, he then went on to lead many crews over many years on various construction projects. He also developed his own prototype for rock crushing. John had a knack for mechanical things, and loved to share the things he made with his hands. 

 In 2010, John and Sybil moved to New Harmony, Utah, where they felt the spirit of mountains and wildlife, and enjoyed the beauty of the new area they called home. 

John is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sybil Rogers Healey of New Harmony, UT; his children, Denise (Matt) Alexander of St George, UT, John (Elyane) Healey of LaPine, OR, Shannan (Jeff) Cavin of Happy Valley, OR, Rocky Healey of Las Vegas, NV, and Allison (Curtis) Satalino of Casa Grande, AZ; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; his brother James T. (Jeanette) Healey of Litchfield Park, AZ ; and sisters, Patricia (Bob) Bishop of Waddell, AZ, and Kay (Bob) Renwick of Fountain Hills, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Gerald Healy Sr. and Florence Geier Healey. 


The funeral service was held on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Kanarraville Ward chapel (80 South Main Street, Kanarraville, UT). There was a viewing prior to the service on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Kanarraville Ward chapel. Interment was in the Kanarraville Cemetery, under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be sent to
