Donna Irene Simmons Sillitoe, 86, passed away Sept. 10, 2018, in St. George, UT. She was born on Oct. 4, 1931, in Spring Canyon, UT, to Joseph William and Edna Irene Blackley Simmons. She married Clarence Delroy Sillitoe on Sept. 9, 1950, in Spring Canyon, UT and the marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on June 9, 1962.
She graduated from Carbon High School with the class of ’49. She was a homemaker and mother of four children. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions throughout the years. She especially loved her work at the Cedar Regional Data Input Center for seven years, as well as compassionate service programs. She also enjoyed Visiting Teaching.
Donna was known for her beautiful crochet work for which she won Purple Ribbons at the Iron County Fair. She loved her family very much, especially her husband Del of 52 years.
Donna is survived by her children: Lynda Irene (Dave) Merrill of St. George, UT; Debra Ann (Dale) Pool of Cedar City, UT; Richard Delroy of Enoch, UT; and Steven Joseph (Cheryl) Sillitoe of West Jordan, UT. She has 16 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She is proceeded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, grandparents, and a great-grandson.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Cedar City Cemetery (685 N Main, Cedar City, UT). There was a viewing held on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 N 300 West, Cedar City, UT). Interment was under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
