Las Vegas – Dr. Don Collison Gilbreth of Las Vegas, Nev., passed away on the morning of April 14, 2018, at age 68. Don was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and loved spending time with his family. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking and off-roading in his Jeep.
Don was born to Collison and Edna Ashdown Gilbreth on July 1, 1949 in Cedar City. He married Karen Walker on June 15, 1973 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Don attended Southern Utah University and was accepted to Washington University’s School of Dentistry in St. Louis, Mo. After graduation in 1977, Don and Karen moved to Las Vegas, where he opened a dental practice. Don was a respected dentist in the Las Vegas valley for over 40 years. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was involved with the youth and scout programs.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Collison and Edna. He is survived by his loving spouse, Karen Gilbreth, as well as his sister, Bonnie (Bud) Zoll. In addition, he leaves behind his children: Nicole (Spencer) Luth, Charlyn (Clark) Taylor, John (Jenni) Gilbreth, and Andrew (Alli) Gilbreth, and thirteen grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on April 20, 2018, with visitation from 1– 2:30 p.m., followed by a service at 3 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1801 S. Monte Cristo Way, Las Vegas, Nev. Interment was in the Cedar City Cemetery, Utah, under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be sent at www.sumortuary.com.
